Overland & 4x4 Events in Utah (2026–2027)

Utah's organized 4x4 calendar comes down to two places: Moab, with 8 of the 13 upcoming Utah events we list, and the Sand Hollow and Hurricane area outside St. George, with 2. The busiest stretch is March 2027, when 3 Utah events fall within about a week of each other. The quietest months are midsummer, when Moab averages 100°F in July according to the Park Service.

Every date below comes from the organizer's own page, linked in the last column. We add events only when there's an official source, so confirm with the organizer before you book anything.

The March pile-up

March 2027 packs the most into one stretch of the calendar. San Rafael Swell Jeep Jamboree runs March 15–18 out of Green River. Matt's Off Road Games takes over parts of Sand Hollow State Park March 18–20, with wrecker recovery challenges, Jalopy Jeep races, a kid zone and vendor booths. The organizer says ticket sales open October 30, and some park areas are closed to anyone without an event ticket. Then Easter Jeep Safari opens in Moab on March 20 and runs through Easter Sunday, March 28.

Matt's ends the day EJS starts, and they're at opposite ends of the state. Book trail days for the second half of EJS if you want both. Moab in March averages 64°F for a high and 35°F for a low, with about 10 freezing nights (Park Service almanac).

Moab beyond Easter

Moab gets 8 listings, and Jeep Jamboree USA runs 6 of them: guided multi-day trips in late October and early November, plus Lionsback Jeep Jamboree with Casey Currie in September 2027. The Red Rock 4-Wheelers, the club behind EJS, also list a monthly trail run on their events page. Fall is a good time to go. The Park Service calls spring and mid-September through October the temperate, most popular seasons, and its almanac puts October at an average high of 74°F and a low of 42°F.

Moab trails cross BLM, state, national park and private land, and the club notes that some charge their own fees. Outside the big events, Sand Flats Recreation Area (the entrance to Hell's Revenge) is $5 per vehicle per day, and Pritchett Canyon has a $2 private gate fee, per the club FAQ.

Sand Hollow and Hurricane

Matt's Off Road Games (Mar 18–20, 2027) is at Sand Hollow State Park. Trail Hero 2027 (Sep 27–Oct 2, 2027) is at Washington County Fairgrounds (Legacy Park), alongside the Trail Hero Music Fest. Of everything on our Utah list, these two are the closest to St. George, and they sit at opposite ends of the season.

San Rafael Swell Jeep Jamboree (Mar 15–18, 2027, Green River). Arch Canyon Jeep Jamboree (Apr 29–May 1, 2027, Blanding). Vernal Rock Rally 2027 (Jun 10–12, 2027, Vernal). Vernal Rock Rally is worth a look if you don't have a built rig. The organizer says it has routes for modified Jeeps, trucks and buggies and others for stock 4x4s of all skill levels. It's not a UTV or ATV event, and registration opens at 12:01am on February 1.
