Plan around the expos

The expos are the fixed points of the year, and the easiest to build a trip around: California Overland Adventure & Power Sports Show (Del Mar) (Feb 6–7, 2027), Overland Expo SoCal 2027 (Mar 13–14, 2027), Overland Expo West 2027 (May 14–16, 2027), Overland Expo Mountain West 2027 (Aug 20–22, 2027). West in Flagstaff has on-site camping in the pines. Our Overland Expo West 2027 guide covers parking, camping rules and the refund cutoff.

Where the dates collide

The most crowded stretch is around March 5, when 5 events overlap: Arizona Bronco Stampede 2027 (Mar 3–7, 2027), The Mint 400 (Mar 3–7, 2027), Mint 400 Experience Jeep Jamboree (Mar 4–6, 2027), Table Mesa Jeep Jamboree (Mar 4–6, 2027), TDS Desert Safari (64th Annual) (Mar 5–6, 2027). If you want a guided trail weekend and a race on the same trip, that's your week. If you want an empty trailhead, it isn't. Mid-March is close behind in Utah. Matt's Off-Road Games ends at Sand Hollow on March 20, the same day Easter Jeep Safari opens in Moab.

Summer

June through August has 8 events: Big Bear Jeep Jamboree (Jun 10–12, 2027), Vernal Rock Rally 2027 (Jun 10–12, 2027), Vegas to Reno Legends Rally (Jul 28–31, 2027), Vegas to Reno "The Other Way" (Aug 11–14, 2027), Rebelle U 4-Day Driving & Navigation Intensive (Ridgecrest) (Aug 19–22, 2027), Vermejo Outdoor Adventure Jeep Jamboree (Aug 19–22, 2027), Overland Expo Mountain West 2027 (Aug 20–22, 2027), COFA National Off-Road Ride (Aug 27–29, 2027). If you're planning a summer trip, those are the dates to work around.

What kind of events these are

20 are guided or club trail rides, 15 of them run by Jeep Jamboree USA, 7 are desert races, 4 are driving or navigation classes, and 4 are expos. The races (The Parker 400, King of the Hammers 2027, The Mint 400, Silver State 300, Vegas to Reno Legends Rally, Vegas to Reno "The Other Way", Laughlin Desert Classic 2027) are spectator events for most people. All 4 training dates are Rebelle U navigation and driving intensives, worth a look if you'd rather learn than watch.
